I know for a fact that the standard 8530 ports on a Sun-3 can run at 56
kbps, since we've done just that with our ARPANET gateway. Dunno about
the Sun-2, though. However, I don't think any Sun software exists to allow
half-duplex control of the modem. You need to be able to assert Request
to Send, wait for Clear To Send, and most likely defer to Carrier Detect
as well. I don't know how easy it would be to write this code, since
object-only UNIX environments are notoriously difficult to work in.
