Great!

Yes, you will see a significant improvement if you bump the MSS up to,
say, 3000, and another jump if you put a faster machine on the server
end.  My 8 MHz XT max'ed out at about 4.8kbyte/s under those conditions,
and it has an extremely slow hard disk.

Keep on doin'!  Just don't forget the hardware remote reset for your
switch... you *will* need it.
