The short answer is that they use incompatable fragmentation schemes
at the AX25 layer... this only occurs if IP hdr + TCP hdr + packet
length is > AX25 packet length (which is something like 240 bytes
going thru net/rom after a switch).
Look at MSS and MTU (Sorry, I don't rember much more right now, but
this has come up several times, you might want to check the group
archives at uscd.edu if no one else tells you more).
